A grand day out.

A not-too-early start from Wolverley got us into Kidderminster mid-morning, and after a little shopping expedition, we set off across town and up a good hill for our initial destination:

This was the "Erlestoke Manor", one of many steam locomotives on the Severn Valley Railway, which was to pull our train through some lovely countryside to Bridgenorth.

Although it was wet at first this morning, and rain threatened us at intervals, it stayed dry and in fact, the day just got better and better.

In Bridgnorth, there were lots of interesting buildings and other things to see:

And more cave dwellings:

Then a nice little ride down and up the Bridgnorth Cliff Railway, the oldest and steepest inland electric funicular railway in England.

Then back to the station to get another train back to Bewdley, where we sadly arrived too late to get into the museum, but it was very pleasant nonetheless ....

And back up a very steep little hill to Bewdley Station to catch our train back to Kidderminster:

There wasn't much to be said for our mooring in Kidderminster outside Sainsbury's so we moved on down the canal towards Stourport. A very pleasant trip during a fine evening. Here's one of the locks en-route:
And we ended up in some quiet moorings next to the "Bird in Hand" pub.
On to the R. Severn and Worcester tomorrow.
